Important information on COVID-19 for British Council customers and partners

Following directives from the Mauritian Government, the British Council has limited our operations with several restrictions in place until further notice. They are as follows:

English Teaching Centre 

Following the official government announcement released on 18 March 2020, all British Council English classes are now being delivered online.

Please do not hesitate to contact our customer services team at general.enquiries@mu.britishcouncil.org or 59191505 should you have any questions on how to join our online classes. Our commitment to the safety of our students as well as to their continued access to learning remains unwavering. 

Examination services

IELTS

To protect the health of IELTS test takers in light of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), IELTS tests have been suspended in Mauritius until  further notice. Affected test-takers will be eligible for a transfer or refund by contacting our centre via email general.enquiries@mu.britishcouncil.org

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused our test-takers, who we know have been working so hard in preparing for the IELTS exam. We know what a huge disappointment this must be, and are working hard to offer as much support as we can in this challenging time.

Professional and University exams

All Professional and University exams have also been suspended in line with Government protocol.

Programmes in arts, education and society

All programmes in Arts, Education and Society in Mauritius have also been suspended until further notice.
