Our English Holiday Programme helps children and teenagers build confidence using English through drama, storytelling and performance. Young people learn by doing – acting, improvising, creating stories, experimenting with props and sound, and working together to bring their ideas to life.
With a different creative theme each week, learners can keep developing their English, build confidence, make new friends and have fun in an active and supportive environment.

Each week is a complete experience, so learners can join for one week or combine two or three.
How your child will learn
Bring English to life
English has a purpose when you're creating something together. Learners use English while acting, telling stories, developing ideas, solving creative challenges and preparing performances. Along the way, they'll have lots of opportunities to speak, listen, collaborate and express themselves in English.
Build confidence through drama
Drama creates a supportive space to experiment with English and try something new. Through role play, improvisation, storytelling and performance, learners develop their voice, communicate ideas and become more confident expressing themselves in front of others.
Create, collaborate and perform
Learners won't just explore stories – they'll create and perform their own. Working together, they'll develop ideas, experiment with characters, scripts, props and sound, rehearse scenes and bring stories to life. Along the way, they'll develop teamwork, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills.
Keep English active over the holidays
The long holiday doesn't have to mean taking a break from English. The programme gives learners plenty of opportunities to speak, listen, create and communicate in English while enjoying a very different experience from their usual classes – helping them return to school ready and confident for the new academic year.
Explore new stories every week
Every week brings a new theme, new drama skills and a new creative challenge.
Week 1: Stories from our island
Draw inspiration from the people, places, nature, legends, traditions and everyday life of Mauritius, then transform those ideas into original stories and performances.
Week 2: Stories of the weird and wonderful
Explore mysterious sightings, strange creatures and extraordinary events. Experiment with improvisation, props, set, sound and performance to make audiences believe in the unbelievable.
Week 3: Stories with spirit
Step into festive stories full of imagination, celebration and surprises. Experiment with characters, puppetry and unexpected twists, then work together to create a festive performance.
Learn with experienced British Council teachers
Our experienced teachers create a welcoming environment where learners are encouraged to experiment, contribute ideas and have a go. Activities are adapted for Primary and Secondary age groups and different levels of English, providing appropriate challenge and support while helping every learner participate and build confidence.
